The Histories and Heritages of Black Peoples in The United Church of Canada
When: Monday evenings 8:00 – 9:30 pm Eastern Time February 6, 13, 20, 27
Where: by Internet and toll-free telephone conference call. All you need is a computer with an Internet connection, and a telephone. We’ll use a conference call system that can put callers into small groups for discussion, or keep us all together for “plenary” sessions.
Details: Join a free webinar series during Black History Month! During the month of February, explore Sankofa: The Histories and Heritages of Black Peoples in The United Church of Canada with an online community. The webinar will be an engaging study group that includes segments of one of the United Church’s newest videos—Sankofa—and the group will engage many questions for conversation. This will be an excellent opportunity for people interested in deepening conversation around Black History Month, and for people interested in intercultural engagement. Leadership: Adele Halliday is the Program Coordinator for Intercultural Engagement & Education at the General Council Office. She is passionate about teaching and learning, loves creating spaces for people to explore faith and identity, and loves to laugh! Adele is on the Board of Directors of the African Canadian Legal Clinic, Chair of the Committee on Black Congregational Ministries, and was study guide editor for Sankofa: The Histories and Heritages of Black Peoples in The United Church of Canada.
