More Franchises -- Facilitator's Conference Calls

An important feature of the Learning Circles componant of the  More Franchises experience is that all of our facilitators will connect with each other by telephone conference call three times. You and your groups are part of a national process of reflection on ministry.

During these conference calls, you'l have an opportunity to
  • share resources and ideas that are emerging in your groups
  • pose new questions and seek suggestions for further resources
  • reflect on the ministry of facilitation, and hone your skills at small group facilitation
  • provide feedback to the conference organizers on what next steps are necessary to ensure that ministry continues to be vital and relevant in the 21st century
Telephone groups like these work best with a relatively small number of people, so we're limiting the enrolment of any one group to 6 people (plus a facilitator). Stephen Fetter, of the national staff, will take minutes during each meeting, however, and these notes will be available for everyone who's part of the project to read. He'll also collect any resources, liturgies, recommended reading lists, and suggestions that emerge in a separate part of this website, so that no one has to go sifting through all the minutes of all the meetings to find the "best stuff." We hope you'll come back to the website from time to time to see what's new.

Participation in a Conference Call

  • Conference Calls are Toll-free -- you'll be given a 1-800 number to dial into at the appropriate time. It's your responsibility to dial in at the right time!
  • We'll set the time for the first call for your group at the Facilitators' meeting, which will be held at the Conference. Please check the Conference schedule and make sure you can attend this meeting!
  • We'll be taking minutes using an Internet-based service called DimDim.com. This will allow anyone who's signed into the service to watch the minutes being created in real time. This isn't essential -- if you don't have access to high speed Internet access while we're on the phone together, you can certainly still participate, but most people find this significantly enhances the experience.
